Today’s recipe, Cherry Crumb Bars, is amazing! Basically, it’s a crumble, like a crumb topping on a pie, that has a layer of tart cherry butter in it. It’s pretty much totally delicious! One of the best parts is you can make this into a gift jar mix! All the person who received this jar mix need to add is melted butter. You really can’t get much easier than that!
Next, add the brown sugar and pat it down in the jar. That’s all that goes in the jar! All you have to do after that is slap a label on it with instructions for what the person you give the jar to has to do to make it into a dessert. Then place it all in a cute bag with the cherry butter and you ready to go! Oh, I suppose I should mention I used Dillman’s Farm Cherry Butter and it is absolutely amazing!!! I think that you could use any flavor of fruit butter or even jams or jellies to make this. Do some experimenting and see what flavor you like in it.
When ready to make the bars start by greasing an 8×8-inch baking pan.
Stir this mixture together with a fork until well combined.
Pat about 3/4’s of the mixture into the prepared pan.
Spread on the cherry butter!
Next, sprinkle on the remaining 1/4 of the crumb mixture. Then bake at 350F for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.
You’re done! Just wait for the bars to cool before you cut them. The one in the picture looks a bit of a mess because I cut and took pictures of it while it was still a bit warm. Good thing I did, though, there wouldn’t have been any left to take pictures of it if I hadn’t! They are seriously super good and with only 5 ingredients there is no excuse not to make them!
