I was going to go to a potluck and I needed something amazing to bring… Everyone always wants to know what I brought because they know it will be good – but what would I bring? I could do cake, pie, brownies, or cookies? I decided to bring cookies, but what kind? I had a slight craving for snickerdoodles and I had only recently started experimenting with the peanut butter powder. So, why not combine the two?! And that’s how Peanut Butter Snickerdoodles were born!
Not only do these cookies have peanut butter powder in them they also have peanut butter. Instead of the outside being coated in cinnamon sugar you can either coat these in peanut powder sugar or cocoa sugar! Peanut Butter Snickerdoodles are basically the same as a snickerdoodle. I modified my usual snickerdoodle recipe replacing half the butter with peanut butter, replacing half a cup of the sugar with brown sugar, and I replaced half a cup of the flour with peanut butter powder. The resulting cookie is a bit thicker than traditional snickerdoodles, but they are oh so peanut buttery and they still have the lovely flavor that the cream of tartar adds. They turn out wonderfully and were the star of the potluck. They can be the star of your potluck too or just the star of your cookie jar.
In the bowl of an electric mixer beat together the soft butter, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla.
Stir in the eggs.
Stir in the flour, peanut butter powder, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Combine well.
Now, this is where you can do some variations, you can either cover the cookie dough balls in cocoa powder mixed with sugar or peanut butter powder mixed with sugar or a few of each!

Once coated bake the cookies at 400F for 10-12 minutes or until done.
These cookies are so easy to make and they taste fantastic! They are an excellent combination of peanut butter cookies and snickerdoodles, but they are also thicker than either of those cookies usually are. They are really good and if you are a peanut butter lover then you should try them, they’ll disappear fast!

- ½c. butter, soft
- ½c. peanut butter
- 1c. sugar
- ½c. brown sugar, packed
- 1t. pure vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2c. flour
- ½c. peanut butter powder
- 2t. cream of tartar
- 1t. baking soda
- ¼t. salt
- ½c. sugar
- 2T. cocoa powder or peanut butter powder
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer beat together the butter, peanut butter, 1c. sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
- Stir in the eggs
- Stir in the flour, ½c. peanut butter powder, cream of tartar, soda, and salt.
- In a small bowl combine the ½c. sugar and cocoa powder or 2T. peanut butter powder.
- Make the cookie dough into heaping tablespoon sized balls and roll them in the cocoa or peanut butter sugar before placing them on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake the cookies at 400F for 10-12 minutes or until done.
