Today is the last of the Jar Mix post series. If you haven’t been following along, I have previously posted Very Vanilla Bars and Cookies and Cream jar mixes. These jar mixes make great gifts and they are also nice to just keep around the house in case you need a quick dessert. These Peanut Butter Butterscotch Bars are great – they taste good and butterscotchy with a healthy dose of peanut butter flavor. Plus, they are super easy to make.
First, you will need a quart size jar. Next, you will need to place some Nutter Butters into a bag.
Crush the cookies up with a hammer or the flat side of a meat mallet.
Place 1 1/3c. of crushed cookies into the jar. Tamp it down using a tart tamper.
Next add brown sugar and press it in well.
Add a layer of butterscotch chips, and tamp it down.
Lastly, fill the jar the rest of the way up with marshmallows, it will take about 1 1/2 cups. Put a lid on it, affix the recipe below to the jar and it is all ready to be gifted or put in the pantry.
When you are ready to make the bars, dump the contents of the jar into a bowl.
Add one stick of melted butter and some vanilla.
Stir it all together very well. Doesn’t it look amazing?!
Pat the mixture into a greased 9″ baking pan.
Bake at 350F for 15 minutes. Cool and enjoy.
