Today, I wanted to share a cake decorating idea with you that is perfect for an Easter or spring get together. The idea is that there are bunny shaped Peeps on top of the cake and everyone gets to try decorating there own Peep. It is really fun to do with children or people who don’t know how to cake decorate, or well really anyone. It’s a great learning experience for all and people get a good idea of how much time and effort go into all the cakes you make. Of course, if you would rather you can just decorate all the Peeps yourself but it is a ton of fun to have other people try their hand at it. It’s so fun to see what people come up with.
So, to start you need a 9×13 inch cake all baked and filled if you want, frosting in greens also pink and purple and orange, and bunny shaped Peeps in assorted colors. Just ice the cake in your green frosting.
Next, use a grass tip to pipe some grass around your cake as the boarder, top and bottom.
Now, lay your Peeps on the top (this also gives you a nice cutting guide).
Pipe some flowers on the side if you want to using your orange, purple, and pink forstings.
Once your guests have arrived lay out your frosting bags with small round tips in them and give your guests the idea by decorating a few Peeps yourself. Then pass the bag off to someone else and let them have a go.
It is really fun to see what all people come up with, look there’s a a pirate!
And a hula girl.
And a bunny with a mustache.
People get so creative.
Of course, some people may not want to participate but that gives someone else the chance to do two.
